Zuccardi Concreto Malbec 2020

Category:

Malbec from Mendoza, Argentina

Winemaker Notes

Deep purple color. The nose, very fresh and complex, shows subtle aromas of red fruit, mountain herbs and graphite. In the palate it has great acidity which gives tension and structure along with the tannins. In the mid palate it has a chalky texture. This is a vertical and very long lasting wine.

James Suckling – 95 Points

Lots of purple fruit with blackberry and blueberry aromas, as well as cement and stone. Floral undertones, such as poppies. Medium to full body with firm tannins and a savory finish. Hints of dried, clove-like spice. No wood here. Drink now or hold.

Bordeaux Bard – 89 Points

This wine is robust, brimming with flavors of plum and cherries, with a hint of subtle oak. It’s youthful and fruit-forward, though it could benefit from a bit more structure. However, the well-integrated tannins make it an exceptionally enjoyable and smooth drink. A great bottle to introduce someone to the best qualities of Malbec.

Food Pairing

Pairs well with asado, sausage casserole, and roasted root vegetables.
